MENDHAR, Jan 1: The people held strong protest demonstration in the town against PDD, PHE and R&B for the poor supply of water and electricity and worst condition of Mendhar-BG Road here today.
The people including a large number of local traders/ members of Beopar Mandal came out on the road near main chowk here at around 10.30 am and then started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against PHE authorities for water crisis in the town and adjoining hamlets. They alleged that PHE pipes have broken at many places. There is leakage in the pipes and water supply is irregular. The people are badly suffering. The concerned PHE staff do not bothers about the issue. They raised slogans against PHE Minister, Chief Engineer concerned and AEE PHE Mendhar.
The agitating people also raised slogans against PDD authorities for worst power crisis in the area. They alleged that due to massive power curtailment, the people have been badly suffering. The damaged transformers are not repaired in time. The consumers have been left to suffer. Even there is no street light in Mendhar town.
The protesters were also shouted slogans against R&B Minister, Chief Engineer concerned and Executive Engineer R&B Poonch for the poor maintenance of the roads. They alleged that even Mendhar-BG road is in bad shape and the condition of Mendhar -Harni and Surankote roads is not good. The public is suffering and the Government do not bothers. Later, on the assurance of SDPO and Tehsildar Mendhar, the people then lift dharna at around 1 pm and allowed movement of vehicle on the road.
