KATHUA, Jan 1: Holding the Coalition Government responsible for the hardships of the public, District Congress Committee (DCC) Kathua president and former MLC Subash Gupta has said that the past year of the Government has resulted into a total failure.
Addressing meeting of the Congress activists at Hiranagar today, Mr Gupta said there is strong resentment among the people as the Government failed in restoring water, power and ration supply in different parts of the district. This Government has totally failed in providing basic amenities to the people.
Hitting at PDP-BJP Coalition for playing with the sentiments of Hindu community, Gupta said that decision of imposing 12.5 per cent service tax on the air travel facility to Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims created a wave of strong resentment in one community. He further said that both these parties had made ties in the name of development but the fact is that no developmental work was going in any area of the State and even the flood victims are still waiting for compensation.
Assailing PWD for its failure to initiate the infrastructure development, Gupta said that former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad announced expanding 30 bedded hospital to 100 bedded and as part of this, he released Rs 80 lakh which are lying with the department, for two-years.
The Ex-MLC criticized State Government for its failure in fulfilling the promises of one time package to refugees, construction of AIIMS and making Jammu a smart city. He told workers to prepare for upcoming Panchayat and Local Bodies elections.
