KATHUA, Jan 15: The irate residents of Sashwan and adjoining areas today staged a protest demonstration and blocked Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Chadwal for one hour in protest against the shifting of wine shop from Chadwal to the area.
As per reports, the protestors squatted on the Highway and shouted slogans against the administration. The movement of traffic was totally disrupted on the Highway for one hour during the afternoon resulting into a huge traffic jam on Highway.
Later the SHO Rajbagh Police Station and Chowki Officer Chadwal visited the area and pacified the protestors. They asked the wine shop owner to pack the material and close the shop. This pacified the protestors and they lifted the road blockade.
