DODA, June 19: The resident of village Fangota in Panchayat Rewara including women held protest against Jal Shakti Department for not supplying drinking water in their area from the past around one month.
The protesting residents carrying empty utensils demanded regular water supply in their area.
“Due to shortage of drinking water, the families living in village Fangota are facing numerous problems”, said Prithvi Raj Bhagat, a retired District Agriculture Officer.
The matter was brought into the notice of officers of Jal Shakti Department several times, but nothing has been done to restore water supply, he said.
The protesting residents said that they will stage protest outside the DDC office here if the department failed to restore regular water supply.
Bhagat has appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene into the matter and initiated action against the erring officers.
