People protest against installation of mobile tower

KATHUA, June 14: The residents of Ward No.4, held a protest demonstration against the installation of mobile tower in the residential area.

The residents including the women in large number assembled in the Ward and raised slogans against Municipal Council Kathua which has granted permission for installation of tower without consulting the local residents. The protesters Satish Kumar Jonty, Jawahar Lal, Mukhtyar Chand, Balak Ram and Balraj Kumar alleged that Municipal Council Kathua, vice president, Rekha Kumari who is also Councilor of the Ward have issued the permission to set up the mobile tower on the roof top of shop while befooling residents after getting fake signature of people.
But in reality no one put signature on consent letter. Even there is no notice issued and no meeting was arranged by Municipal Council to record opinion of residents. They alleged that on which shop the tower is going to be installed have no approval map of Council and shop was raised without any permission.
They demanded an independent inquiry into the matter and dismantling of mobile tower construction immediately. Otherwise the people could be forced to come on the road.
