JAMMU Dec 28: Madan Lal Sharma Member of Parliament Jammu Poonch Constituency today conducted a Janta Darbar at Rajpura Mangotrian here which provided platform to the inhabitants of area to raise their issues. Initiating the discussion Rajesh Sharma, D.S Langey, Manmohan Singh, O.N Koul, Kanta Bhan, Keshav Nath and others senior Congress leaders put forth the demands of the people they said that civic facilities to the people should be provided including proper sanitation of the area and they sought the directions to the JMC in this regard.They also demanded to stream line regular power supply and portable water to the people in these areas.
MP gave a patient hearing to the people and termed their demands genuine. He assured to takeup the matters with concerned Ministers and authorities on priority. Mr Sharma also appealed people of Jammu to put a united face so that power is shared between Kashmir and Jammu division with major share of Jammu in Parliamentary as well as in State Assembly. He made it clear that it is only the Congress party which can share the power in the State and called upon the people to support Congress in forthcoming Parliament election for the interest of Jammu.
Earlier, in the morning Mr. Sharma addressed an NGO meet at Gandhi Nagar Jammu and said that NGOs can play a vital role in mitigating the problem of the people in a sustainable manner. He assured his full support and cooperation to the NGO movement and asked the State authorities to involve NGOs in National Flagship progrmmes like NRHM, SSA, MGNREGA, NRDWP etc. He also asked NGOs to work with transparency and dedication and bulild a strong NGO movement in the State. Prominent people of NGOs present on the occasion includes and Inderjit Khajuria, Rajesh Bitto, Vikrant Dogra, Suman Sharma, Preeti Choudhary and Sham Lal.
