JAMMU, Dec 9: The residents of New Plots area, including shopkeepers, held protest demonstration under the leadership of Sunil Dimple, president Jammu West Assembly Movement, in which people oriented problems were discussed.
During the demonstration, the protesters raised slogans against the CAPD Department for increasing the rates of ration on Government depots and even failed to provide ration to the people of the State.
The protesters also threatened to gherao the Civil Secretariat if ration supply was not restored and its rates not rolled back.
He alleged in the open market the atta is Rs 30/  to 35/- per kg and the vegetables, dals and edible oil are beyond the reach of the common man.
He asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP as to where has gone the commitment of Acchey Din.
He demanded to arrest the black marketers of the ration, kerosene oil, LPG and the CAPD ration.
Dimple also demanded the State and the Central Governments to exempt the Sale Tax and VAT on the sale of the diesel, petrol, LPG gas and the kerosene oil.
