SAMBA, Oct 28: The inhabitants of ward No 3, 4 & 5 of Vijaypur town are facing grave problems due to blockages of the pathway.
Ravi Kumar, Girdhari Lal, Faqir Chand, Bhushan Kumar, Joginder Pal, Madan Lal Dogra, Allah Rahim today said that a keekar tree has fell down about a month ago but till date no one from the authorities side bothered to get it removed. They said though they approached tehsildar concerned, Executive Engineer EM&RE Division, Vijaypur as well as Municipal president and other revenue officers with the request to get the tree removed but to no avail.
They said the tree has fallen on the building of Tehsil office and when they asked tehsildar and president Municipal Committee the reason for the delay in removing Keekar tree, they were informed that the tree fell in the premises of Power Development Department (PDD) and it is the duty of PDD authorities to remove it. The PDD authorities are not interested to remove the tree the reasons best known to them, they added.
The inhabitants were anguished over the conduct of the authorities. The inhabitants requested the Deputy Commissioner, Samba to pay the visit at Vijaypur and solve the burning problem and take the appropriate action against the officers responsible for problem and showing non seriousness towards their duties.
