JAMMU, Feb 7: ‘Special Anti Crime Team and Welfare Society, J&K, has appealed the people of J&K, preferably the Young generation to participate generously on 14th Feb 2016 to discourage the celebration of ‘Valentine Day’, which has damaged the image and respect for the Womenfolk. At a press conference at bari Brahmana today. Hony/Sub Maj (retd) Madan lal said as a tradition we the Dogras perform ‘Kanya Pujan’ believing the Girls as symbol of Goddess Maa Durga, which shows the respect towards women. But the Valentine Day, a foreign Culture celebration, has tarnished the image of womenfolk, specially the girls, since few people with ill intention use this Valentine Day to exploit young girls for their benefit in establishing advancement of personal relationship, merely on the cost of a Rose and subsequently exploit them. He said in some cases the exploited girls are used for women trafficking as such in order to save the dignity and respect for women, later on some girls commit suicide.
