Srinagar, Sept 16: People from old city Srinagar have alleged that the BSNL is taking more than enough time in restoring their landlines.
Scores of customers said that they have been waiting for their landlines to be restored for last more than two weeks after they completed all the formalities at the Central BSNL exchange at Lal Chowk.
“I had kept my connection in the safe custody-meaning that I was required to put in a simple application following which the connection was meant to be restored in just few hours. While I completed the formality I was told that it was up and running and just needed to the linemen to do the last few technical things, but I am looking for him for last more than one week, he is nowhere to be found,” said Sajad Ahmad a resident of Iddgah.
He said that he once met the concerned lineman, but he allegedly misbehaved with him. “He misbehaved by saying that he will do what he feels like doing and he did not need instructions from anyone,” he added.
Many other customers are also saying that the concerned BSNL lineman in Iddgah was not taking the task in hand seriously and was dodging them each and every day.
“I have a patient back home, and I needed a way of communication desperately, even after completing all the formalities and even getting the restoration order from the BSNL central exchange, the concerned lineman is not even bothered to resolve the issues,” said another customer Bilal Ahmad.
Aggrieved customers are saying that amid the circumstances that are tough and where there is no communication except that of landline, those who are responsible in getting the things done were taking undue benefit of the peoples’ grievances.
“This is a war-like situation, rather than trying to address the grievances of people, the ground staff of the BSNL is adding to the miseries; we appeal the General Managed BSNL to look into such matters and direct the ground staff to speed up the resolution of such grievances,” Abdul Qayoom, a resident said.
