JAMMU, July 4: While highlighting various demands of the employees, J&K State Pensioners Welfare Federation and Senior Citizens Civil Society has demanded restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.
The demand was raised during an emergency meeting, held at the residence of Sampat Prakash, State President of the Pensioners Welfare Federation/Senior Citizens Civil Society, here today.
The meet endorsed the stand taken by some Kashmiri Pandit organizations, which have rejected the Domicile Act and asked the Central as well as Union Territory Administration to stop issuing Domicile Certificates to outsiders till the Supreme Court decides the issue.
“These Certificates have no value at present. The Kashmiri Pandits have to be rehabilitated in the first instance and then only the Domicile issue shall be settled. The residents of the State including the Kashmiri Pandits do not require this bogus certificate as they are already the inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir with PRCs since time immemorial,” the participants said.
The meet also demanded regularisation of daily wagers in a systematic manner under rules, payment of genuine Unemployment Allowance to the unemployed youth as is being paid in some States of the country till their absorption in the Government or Semi- Government organisations.
The meeting lamented that the Labour laws, which guarantee the working class community of their safety and security, have been withdrawn in many of the BJP controlled States and the plight of the working class people was pathetic.
State Vice President / Provincial President Jammu, Sheikh Riyaz Ahmed, the Patron Jammu Province, Sham Prasad Kesar, Gen Secy Jammu Province Banarsi Dass, Gaffoor Dar, Chairman Pir Panchal Range, Sajjad Mirza, Gen Secy Poonch, Mohd Aslam Malik, Chairman Chenab Valley, Mohd Ayub Seh, Teh President Bhaderwah and other Distt Presidents, Tehsil and Block Presidents participated in the meeting.
