Pensioners hold meet, list demands

JAMMU, Aug 20: A meeting of All, J&K Pensioners Association held here today under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Baru discussed various demands of the pensioners in the State.
As per a release, the meeting demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance and quantum of age group of 80 years, 85 years, 90 years and 100 years be considered.
During the meeting a Committee was also framed and members resolved to take the ongoing struggle to its logical conclusion. The meeting demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month. Madan Lal Abrol general secretary of the Association urged the members to be united and strengthen the Association.
The meeting also demanded release of 10 Percent D A Installment to employee and pensioners.
Addressing the meeting Mr Abrol warned the Government that in case any delay in solution of the demands the pensioners will resort to agitation and also boycott the Assembly elections.
Mulkh Raj, R K Vaid, S D Verma and others participated in the meeting.
