Pensioners for enhancement in Medical Allowance

SRINAGAR, Dec 2: A meeting of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Forum was held at Kangan under the chairmanship of Mir Ghulam Rasool Batvina a senior trade Union leader in which the problems faced by State Government pensioners and senior citizens were discussed in detail.
The meeting demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 3000, enhancement of allowance after age of 65 years on the pattern of other State Governments besides, the senior citizens and pensioners be provided the other facilities being provided in the developed countries.
Expressing concern over price hike they demanded that the Government should take steps in controlling the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities. It also demanded that the Government should fill up the vacant posts in various departments, regularization of temporary employees and daily wagers and creation of job avenues for unemployed youth.
The meeting appointed Mohammed Syed Chasti as secretary district Ganderbal, Haji Ghulam Hasan Ganderbali was appointed as district coordinator and Ghulam Nabi Para was appointed as vice president of JK UT.
