JAMMU, Oct 17: Madan Lal Abrol, general secretary of the Pensioners Association of the State has urged the Government to release the pending arrears of 6th Pay Commission, which was due on January 2006.
Abrol said that the Government has announced in the Assembly at the budged session that all arrears will be given to the pensioners within days, but no arrears have been given to the pensioners of the States.
The Centre has given the arrears of 6th Pay Commission in the year 2009 in two installments i.e. 40% and 60%. But the pensioners in the State were waiting for the orders of the State Government regarding two installments of 6th Pay Commission as early as possible.
