Pensioners Association urges PM, FM to remove anomalies in Pay Commission

JAMMU, Sept 3:   Highlighting the shortfall in implementation of 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations, J&K Pensioners Association Jammu has appealed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister  Arun Jaitley to look into the anomalies and correct the same  before adopting recommendations of 7th Pay Commission.
In a statement, State co-coordinator of the Pensioners Association, N D Sharma stressed that it would be most appropriate that 7th Pay Commission may go through the details of the wrong decisions taken by the UPA Government in implementation of 6th Pay Commission recommendations.
While elaborating, he listed the shortfalls, such as disparity in existing frame work of revised pension structure for pre- 2006 and post 2006 pensioners, disparity in sanctioning of 20 years qualifying service for full pensionery benefits, disparity created in reducing initials of the revised pay scales against Government  employees and subordinate officers and disparity in sanctioning of additional quantum of pension in favour of pensioners after attaining  the age of  80, 85, 90, 95 and 100 years.
The 20 years of neglect period from the date of retirement to 80 years with no financial help in favour of old pensionsion has been felt with great concern and the Government must address this point besides other issues, he added.
