KATHUA, Sept 10: Provi-ncial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU), District Sub Unit Hiranagar, highlighted the demands of the workers in its meeting held here today under the chairmanship of PC Sharma, provincial president of the Union.
The dozens of employees from both Sub Divisions of Hiranagar participated in the meeting and showing their resentment against PDD authorities for ignoring their demands, which include implementation of SRO 59 in both Divisions STD III and EM&RE Division Kathua, conducting of DPC at the earliest for all cadres at Circle and Division levels, provision of bathroom facilities in all power stations and renovation of the existing one, which are not functioning.
The employees also reiterated other demands like provision of safety tools and implements and telephone facilities and other infrastructure like required furniture in all power stations. The association warned to adopt the agitation path if their demands were not fulfilled.
Hardarshan Singh, president, District Sub Unit Hiranagar, while speaking on the occasion, strongly condemned the man handling of duty employees in Mahreen and Paharpur power stations and demanded security for the employees in power stations during peak hours. He also urged the PDD authorities to take stern action against such miscreants, which make undue pressure on duty employees.
