KATHUA, Feb 6: Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) here today staged a protest demonstration at Basohli.
The protest was led by P.C Sharma, Provincial President of the Union wherein the protesters demanded regularization of services of Daily Rated and Need Based Casual Labourers of Power Development Department (PDD).
They also demanded payment of wages to 3405 Need Based Workers from the date of their engagement.
Addressing the protesters P.C Sharma said that 1523 Daily Rated Workers were not regularized on the pretext of non-availability of posts.
He also said that Daily Wagers are working in the department for the last 20 years in high risk prone areas on crucial assignments like Lineman to facilitate the Government to cope up with increased infrastructure of the PDD.
Sharma also demanded payment of wages to 795 Need Based Workers whose names are there in the list but bio-data has not been up-loaded in the National Informatics Centre.
