PEEU criticizes Govt for discrimination with Jammu employees

JAMMU, Nov 20: Provincial Electric Employees Union (PEEU), Jammu today criticized the Government as well as higher authorities of Power Development Department (PDD) for giving step motherly treatment to PDD employees of Jammu province.
Addressing a press conference, PC Sharma, president, PEEU Jammu, said that all rules and SROs are made favourable for the PDD employee of Kashmir whereas their implementation in Jammu region becomes tough.
Citing some examples of discrimination with employees of Jammu region, Sharma said that SRO 149 of 1973 for releasing Technical Grade to ITI and equivalent ITI employees, SRO 59 of 1990 for one step promotion and SRO 64 of 1994 for regularization of daily wagers retrospectively from the d ate of completion of 7 years have been fully implemented in Kashmir while employees of Jammu have been ignored for these benefits.
He stressed upon the Government as well as concerned authorities to release Technical grade in terms of SRO 149 of 1973 for all it is and equivalent, implement fully SRO 59 of 1990 in favour of all PDD employees on the same analogy as done in Kashmir, give retrospective effect in terms of SRO 64 of 1994 to already regularized daily wagers as done in Kashmir and make amendment in service recruitment rules as per SRO 381.
