KATRA, Nov 20: Foiling an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town, Katra Police today arrested two bootleggers and seized 90 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession.
During patrolling duty by the official of Katra Police Station in the town, a Maruti car was halted for checking at counter No: 02. On checking of the car JK02U-2715, Police recovered 90 polly pouches of J&K Excise liquor.
Police seized the recovered liquor as well as the car and arrested driver, identified as Ariyan, son of Raju of Barrian Udhampur and his accomplice namely Ankush Kumar son of Kali Dass of Laddan Power House Udhampur.
In this connection, case FIR/No: 217/17 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
