JAMMU, Aug 17: A pedestrian was killed in a road accident late last night in Paloura area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Gyan Singh (45), a resident of Kabir Colony, Poonch, was seriously injured when a truck bearing registration number JK02BC-7211 hit him while crossing the Jammu-Akhnoor road at about 11.30 last night.
In serious condition, the injured Gyan Singh was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries about 3.30 am today.
After conducting post mortem today, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Domana police has registered a case in this connection. The accused truck namely Suresh Kumar son of Jeet Lal, a resident of Patoli Mangotrian, has been arrested and his vehicle seized by the police.
