KATHUA, Aug 1: A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a matador at village Pallan in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district today.
He has been identified as Subash Singh Katal S/O Isher Singh Katal of Pallan. Katal was on way to his routine work when the matador bearing registration number JK089289 which was in fast speed hit him. He fell down on the road in a pool of blood and died on spot. The matador driver fled after the accident. However the Billawar Police seized the vehicle and registered a case under Section 304 RPC against the driver.
The dead body of Katal was taken to SDH Billawar by police for postmortem and it will be handed over to family tomorrow for cremation.
Meanwhile two persons were injured after a motor cycle bearing number UP14BC4662 was hit by an unknown vehicle at SIDCO near REX Hoyel Samba in which motor cyclist and pillion rider were injured. The duo was taken to DH Samba for treatment by the police, which also registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
The injured were identified as Salinder Kumar S/O Ram Singh of Farukhabad UP at present SIDCO and another was identified as Lukal S/O Nehar Singh of Bijnore UP presently at SIDCO Samba.
