Pedestrian held with illicit liquor

JAMMU, Aug 16: Pouni Chack police arrested a pedestrian along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Pouni Chack police post led by SI Rajesh Kumar under the supervision of SHO Domana police station Inspector Rajinder Sharma, SDPO Domana Surinder Sharma and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the person, who has been identified as Behari Lal, son of Nanak Chand of Singha Chak, Gho Manhasa.
The accused was taking the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 255/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Domana and investigation started.
