JAMMU, Aug 7: Bakshi Nagar police arrested a pedestrian and recovered large quantity of intoxicant capsules and tablets.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bakshi Nagar police station laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 208 intoxicant capsules and 45 tablets from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Nihal, son of Romesh Lal of Bathera, tehsil Akhnoor, presently residing in PNT Colony, Bakshi Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 135/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
