JAMMU, Oct 1: Gangyal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a pedestrian along with ganja.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered 1.5 kilograms ganja from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Shashi Kumar Sahu, son of Shiya Ram Sahu, a resident of Chhattisgarh, presently residing in Marble Market.
A case under FIR Number 109/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
