Peace procession in Leh

LEH, Dec 25: Soon after the Friday prayers thousands of Muslims took out a massive peace procession to demand the release of spiritual leader Ayatullah Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky arrested by the Government of Nigeria.
Raising slogans the protestors also demanded the Government to take stringent action against terrorists involved in killings of innocent civilian. The rally culminated at historical Polo Ground, Leh, where various speakers expressing their views on terrorism strongly urged the Government to act against terrorism. Speakers included Majles-e-Ulleman Leh, Sheikh Ghulam Hadi, LBA president Tsewang Thinles, Anjuman Moin-Ul-Islam President Sheikh Saif Ud-Din, Anjuman Imamiya President Ashraf Ali Barcha and Alhaj Sheikh Imam Juma Thiksay, Sheikh Javeed Zubdhi expressed strong resentment against prevailing terrorist activities in the world and added that Ladakh irrespective of caste, creed and religions unitedly raise voice against such terrorists activity. Later they submitted a joint memorandum which interalia read: “The People of Ladakh belonging to different faith reiterate our monolithic position of denouncement of terrorism and all acts of terror taken out in the name of religion or for any other reasons. There has been a surge in dedication in last couple of decades the world has experienced series of incidences since 9/11 across the world, which saw instilment of fear and harming of civilian. We straight forwardly recognize that such acts are nothing short of barbarism of the highest order.
It context of India, there has been few disturbing instances indicating the penetration of such radical forces or their ideology. Here we the people of Ladakh are committed to stay firm and alert against any such incidence in our region and the Nation’.
