SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Militants today shot dead a People’s Democratic Party worker and a civilian in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
A police officer said that militants shot at and killed a PDP worker and former Sarpanch in South Kashmir’s Mattan area this evening.
Ghulam Rasool Gania, 50, a resident of Mattan and shopkeeper by profession was shot at outside his house this evening by militants. He was removed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police, Army and CRPF have launched massive manhunt against the killers of the PDP worker.
And Police said that a civilian was abducted and shot dead by militants in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district today.
Bullet riddled body with mutilated face was recovered at Sesman village of Qazigund in Kulgam district today. Body was later identified as that of Showkat Ahmad Dar of Arwani area of the district.
Police said that the deceased was abducted from his house by Lashkar-e-Toiba militants on October 1 and shot dead. The police have blamed two local militant of LeT for murder of the civilian and said efforts are on to nab them.
