JAMMU, Mar 8: Senior PCC leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma has alleged that PDP is taking all the decisions which suits it while BJP has been acting as mute spectator.
While addressing  meeting of  Block Congress Committee at Akhnoor  today senior PCC leader said that the present PDP- BJP Govt is becoming ineffective day by day and in this regime, the disparities with the Jammu region has become order of the day. He said that in this Coalition Government PDP is making all decisions which suits it and the BJP even being in coalition, is behaving like a mute spectator because of lust of power and thus do not want to displease PDP.
Sharma further said that of  late, the PDP under the chairmanship of Mehbooba Mufti  is taking such decisions which will not only endanger the communal harmony but may take Valley like situation in the Jammu region.
He said it is feared that the unilateral decisions being taken by PDP may harm the communal harmony which is endeared to the people of the State.
He alleged that the BJP leaders are proving as the so called “Jai Chands” of Jammu region never resisted and not even spoken a word against such unilateral decisions for the reasons best known to them.  Sham said that he cannot say that there were no disparities in the previous regimes of the Government but those were not to the extent which is being done in the present regime that too,  on religion basis.
PCC leader expressed his unhappiness over the imbalance of allotment of PG seats in Medical Colleges by the MCI  ie 35% seats have been allotted to Medical College in Jammu where as 65% seats have been allotted to Kashmir Medical colleges. He said that the PDP- BJP Government should explain as to why there is such a steep discrimination with people of Jammu region. He said BJP has failed to raise the voice.
He said that public including traders, businessmen, farmers, unemployed and under employed youth, families of the martyrs, strife trodden border residents besides daily wagers, casual workers, contractual lecturers, Anganwari workers, ASHA workers etc had been bearing the brunt of the discrimination in all spheres. Taking the jibe at the BJP for betraying the people, Sham said that the Jammu youth were the worst sufferers with paltry share of employment coming to them as compared to Kashmir.
