PDP stages protest against LPG price hike

JAMMU, Oct 9: Activists of  People’s Democratic Front (PDP) staged protest demonstration against the hike in the price of  LPG cylinders and the crisis created in the entire State.
The PDP activists led by Puneet Jamwal from Jammu West unit, assembled near Press Club here today and held protest demonstration against the Central and the State Governments. The youth activists were carrying banners and placards and shouted slogans in support of public demand. Some of them were also carrying empty LPG cylinders.
Mr Jamwal while speaking on the occasion demanded that 12 and not six subsidized cylinders be provided to the people of this State annually. He said that common people were suffering a lot due to non-availability of  LPG. On the pretext of verifications, the consumers are being harassed. He further alleged that common man has been badly hit with this decision of the UPA Government.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Rajat Gupta, Raj Kumar, Shishu Gandotra, Sham Sharma, Vikram Singh, Anil Ganjoo, Vijay Anand, Gurdev Singh, Bharat Kumar, Mohan Choudhary, Dr Ramzan and Majid Shah.
