PDP leader, ex-FCIK president released

SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Two days after release of four political leaders, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former president of the Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir were released today after six months of detention.
Former PDP MLA from Wachi in South Kashmir Aijaz Ahmad Mir and trade leader Shakeel Ahmed Qalandar, were released today from detention at the MLA hostel Sub-Jail and Central Jail Srinagar.
Mir and Qalander were taken into preventive custody in August last year ahead of abrogation of Article 370 of Indian constitution.
Earlier, on Sunday four mainstream political leaders former MLA Shopian Mohammad Yousuf, National Conference leaders Abdul Majid Larmi, Ghulam Nabi Bhat and Muhammad Shafi were released from MLA hostel Sub-Jail Srinagar. Now 15 political leaders are under detention in MLA hostel.
