PDP Govt runs on dictates from RSS: Mir

JAMMU, Dec 23: Asserting that the PDP Government was running on the dictates from RSS, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president GA Mir today  questioned the PDP Government why it was opposing grant of  citizenship of India rights to West Pak refugees when it was in opposition.
In a press statement here, PCC leader  said, “ when Congress was taking up the issue that West Pakistan refugees need identification as citizens of India, it was PDP who would always oppose the move. Our stand has been always clear that there was no problem in granting WPRs citizenship of India. Though from time-to-time questions have been raised by some parties over granting WPRs domicile of the State, the decision was pending.” Mir maintained.
“When the PDP wasn’t ready even to identify WPRs as citizens of India in 12-years, then the Congress was in power, what compelled them to clarify this part of pending resolution. This was pending for the last more than 60 years and PDP was always opposing it. What compelled them to do it now,” Mir questioned.
PCC chief  said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was taking decision only to secure her chair as PDP has sold everything to RSS. “Whatever is dictated by RSS in the interest of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), CM Mehbooba Mufti gives them smooth go through. What was the role of PDP when they were in opposition for six years. Now, they have totally taken a U-turn,” he said.
Questioning the wisdom of the Government to take a decision on such sensitive issue without taking opposition parties into confidence,  Mir said, “Even if they (PDP-led  Government) had to take this decision, they could have discussed the same in the Assembly to take all the parties into confidence as this was a sensitive issue.”
“When the issue was discussed in the Assembly last time, PDP wasn’t onboard over the issue. They should have atleast respected the views of the opposition parties before taking the decision,” the PCC president said.
