JAMMU, Aug 31: PDP Zone president, Jammu West, Puneet Singh Jamwal led a deputation of ward presidents and party workers to meet Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Manmohan Singh, here today and informed him about dilapidated condition of roads and drains in Top Sherkhania and adjoining localities.
Jamwal also sought immediate repair of roads, drains and streets and fixation of all street lights so that people may not face inconvenience during evening hours. He also sought fogging of areas to get rid of mosquitoes and said that stray animals including dogs too have caused menace in the localities.
He sought coordination between supervisors and local population of different wards so that cleanliness could be maintained for conveniences of people. The PDP leader demanded removal of encroachments of roads and streets.
The Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured the deputation after assessment of the problems immediate corrective measures will be ordered. He said that all encroachments and illegal constructions will be removed.
