SAMBA, Oct 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief  Ghulam Ahmed Mir accused the PDP-BJP Coalition Government of creating controversies as per their match fixing strategy in order to keep the people engaged and to divert their attention from the utter failure of the Government in the State.
Addressing a largely attended function in connection with year long celebrations of 125th  anniversary of  Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar here today PCC chief lashed out at PDP-BJP Government for  exploitation of  the people by generating controversies in order to keep the people engaged in different conflicts and to divert their attention from the governance deficit and their failure to fulfill the promises made by them during Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Expressing grave concern on the overall situation created by the policies of exploitation by the coalition partners, Mir said that the present Coalition Government has vitiated the atmosphere of peace and harmony due to their inherent contradictions. He said that Congress would continue to play the role of a unifying force being a secular and progressive political force having strong base in all three regions of the State. He expressed confidence that Congress will stage come back in the Leh Hill Council elections.
Paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar, the PCC chief remembered his contributions in framing the  Indian Constitution wherein, the provision for the welfare and the up-liftment of  poor,   downtrodden and  each  & every section irrespective of caste, creed colour or religion  was kept and approved by the Constituent Assembly of the country. He said that Dr Ambedkar  worked closely with the Congress party leaders in delivering the Indian constitution and his ideology of social equity and vision of a society free of discrimination is in consonance with the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. The Congress is the only party that has made significant contributions towards the empowerment of downtrodden sections of the society, he added.
Speaking on the occasion Sham Lal Sharma  said that it is more important to remember Dr Ambedkar at the point of time when there are attempts to distort history and dilute the democratic and secular structure in the country. He lashed out at the forces who are trying to destroy and distort the contribution of the Congress party and its great stalwarts during the freedom struggle and in the post independent  era.  He said that the present dispensations is creating  controversies and conflicts as part of its tactics to befool the people and to cover up their failure.
Chairman of  Dr Ambedkar Memorial Committee Mula Ram, former minister, in his address remembered the contribution of Dr Ambedkar during freedom struggle and post independence era. He said that Indian Constitution, framed under his chairmanship is one of the best document in the world which takes care of the aspirations of the largest pluralistic society. He was `messiah’ of the poor and downtrodden in the country and dedicated his life for their upliftment and social integration by protecting their interests in the constitution.
The function was also attended senior Congress leaders of the  party including   Raman Bhalla, Dr Manohar Lal,  Manjeet Singh, Manmohan Singh, Rajnish Sharma, Indu Pawar, Girdhari Lal Chalotra,  Prakash Sharma, president DCC Samba, Subash Bhagat,  BS Sambyal, Vinod Mishra,  Shiv Dev Singh, Udhay Bhan Singh Chib, Naresh Sharma, Pankaj Dogra, Arun Sharma, Bashir Malik  and others.
