JAMMU, Aug 16: The PDP-BJP Coordination Committee will meet tomorrow in Srinagar, the summer capital of the State, to discuss host of issues including appointments to various Commissions, allotment of portfolios to Ministers of State belonging to BJP and other issues faced by the Alliance partners.
The meeting will be chaired by the Coordination Committee chairman and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh.
Official sources said the meeting will be held at Dr Singh’s official residence at Srinagar over dinner.
According to sources, the appointments to State Accountability Commission (SAC), Backward Classes Commission (BCC) and filling up of the posts of vice chairpersons of more Boards/Corporations would figure in the meeting.
Also the grant of portfolios to some BJP’s Ministers of State, which were with the party before Abdul Ghani Kohli and Chhering Dorjey were elevated to the Cabinet rank, will also be discussed.
Sources said some other issues, which were part of the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ will also be taken up by the Coordination Committee for implementation.
The Committee comprised Dr Nirmal Singh, chairman, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Thupstan Chhewang, Shamsher Singh and Lal Singh (all BJP), Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Tariq Hamid Karra, Abdul Rehman Veeri and Naeem Akhter (all PDP).
