JAMMU, July 21: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today constituted a Manifesto Committee for the coming elections to the State Assembly. The decision was taken at the meeting of Party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) held under the chairmanship of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, its patron.
The Committee will be headed by Muzaffar Hussain Baig as its Chairman. Its other members include, Tariq Hameed Kara, S Rangeel Singh, Haseeb Drabu , Rafeeq Hussain Khan, AR Veeri, Naeem Akhtar, Zaffar Manhas and Firdous Tak.
Those who attended the meeting apart from party president Mehbooba Mufti included Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Tariq Hameed Karra, S Rangeel Singh, Mohammad Dilawar Mir, S Rafeeq Hussain Khan, Yashpal Sharma, Syed Altaf Bukhari, Haseeb Drabu and S Tarlok Singh Bajwa, Naeem Akhtar.
The Committee has been tasked to prepare a draft manifesto for the party for approval after consultations.
Party also announced mandates for four more constituencies. They are G M Sofi from Handwara Constituency in Kupwara district of North Kashmir, Dr Harmesh Salathia from Vijaypur Assembly Constituency in Samba district of Jammu, Daman Bhasin from Jammu West Assembly Segment in Jammu district and Shafiqurrehman from Mahore Assembly Segment in Reasi district of Jammu region.
A party handout issued to press said that list of nominations for other constituencies will be announced soon.
