KANGAN, Nov 16: National Conference held a massive roadshow from Surus to Gund in Kangan today where hundreds of NC supporters and workers pledged to support Omar Abdullah’s vision of transparency, good-governance and nation-building.
National Conference general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar and senior NC MLA Mian Altaf addressed the roadshow at various places and spoke at a massive election rally at the culmination of the roadshow in Gund, Kangan.
Ali Mohammad Sagar said that National Conference has received the support of the public at every crucial juncture in the history of the State and shares a time-tested bond of trust with the people. “PDP has emerged to be a disruptive, negative political machination against the people of J&K founded by covert agencies. Their politics is based on lies and deception and their rhetoric today is aimed at erasing Mufti Sayeed’s brutal and blood-soaked past as the dreaded Home Minister of India. Today PDP talks of being an alternative while it has given mandates to ration thieves, rice bag thieves, urea thieves, dreaded Ex-SOG officers, numerous retired and indicted corrupt bureaucrats and black-money operators who have made millions out of illegal activities and through dozens of scams,” he alleged.
Sagar alleged that PDP wants to drown J&K in a sea of corruption again as it did between 2002 and 2008 and has gathered all thieves and corruption specialists under one umbrella for this very purpose. “PDP is trying to get into a position where they can completely abrogate Article 370 and this is not surprising as it was none other than Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who played a very important role in eroding Article 370 between 1953 and 1975”, he added.
Sagar said that NC would emerge victorious in the coming elections and would continue to safeguard Article 370 and the interests of the people of the State from the evil designs of those who aim to weaken the State internally at the behest of covert agencies.
Speaking on the occasion, senior NC leader, sitting MLA and candidate from Kangan Assembly segment, Mian Altaf Ahmed also lashed out at PDP for trying to befool and mislead the people of J&K by raising hollow slogans to only contradict them and eventually abandon them. “What happened to PDP’s ‘healing touch’ and ‘self rule’ slogans? They abandoned their ‘self rule’ document as if it never existed while they converted their ‘healing touch’ into a killing touch policy when Mufti Sayeed ordered the targeted killings of those Hizbul Mujahideen commanders who had agreed to come to the negotiation table during the government of Dr Farooq Abdullah.
Mian Altaf said that NC would emerge victorious as single largest party in the upcoming Assembly elections because of developmental work done by the Omar Abdullah Government.
