Jammu, Feb 4: The J&K Power Development Department employees have threatened to go on strike, demanding review on the decision on re-bundling of the department and regularisation of non-gazzeted, daily wagers and need base workers of the department.
Addressing press conference here today, Tarun Gupta, president of PDD Employees Union said, “We urge Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra to intermediate the matter of PDD  employees. He said the previous regime had proposed the unbundling of PDD Department, but the fate of Non-Gazetted employees was yet to be decided.
“We urge the Governor to stop the unbundling of Department till felicitating the Non-Gazetted employees, daily wagers and need based workers,” he added.
He further said that on January 8, 2012 a meeting between PDD employees and the Government representatives was held where in the previous Government had assured to promote the daily wagers equal in Jammu Province and Kashmir, who have completed seven years of services under SRO 381 of 1981.
“The administration promoted 874 daily wagers in Jammu province and 1,500 in Kashmir province, but forcibly imposed the NPS Scheme on the promoted employees which is totally in contempt of SRO 381,” he added.
“The promotions of daily wagers in Kashmir was done on province seniority but in Jammu on District seniority,” he added and said if the demands of promotion of subsequent daily wagers and release of wages of need base workers will not be conceded in ten days, they will go on strike.
