JAMMU, June 30: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu has urged the State Power Development Department (PDD) to extend the last date of Voluntary Load Disclosure Scheme (VLDS) from July 9 onwards.
In a meeting of the CCI held here today under the chairmanship of its president Y V Sharma, the members thoroughly discussed the issue of voluntary Load Disclosure Scheme. Mr Sharma pointed out that during the meeting of the CCI held with State Electricity Regulatory Commission and the PDD, it was brought to the notice that facts of the VLDS should be clarified publicly for the benefit of the consumers.
It was also discussed in the meeting that the connected load with any consumer has to be counted both for summer and the winter respectively and the contract load has to be calculated with a diversity factor of 60% of the connected load for the summer/ winter whichever is higher. It was impressed upon that when this fact of VLDS is brought to the notice of the public in general they will voluntarily come forward to disclose the load. Now since the consumers are not fully aware, the last date as fixed July 9, be extended. The scheme should also be widely publicized through radio, TV and print media. They said in the forms, guidelines of the schemes be mentioned.
The meeting was also attended by Sham Lal Langar, senior vice president, Anil Gupta junior vice president, Arun Gupta secretary general, Deepak Aggarwal secretary and B B Gupta, treasurer.
