JAMMU, Feb 7: A Lineman of Power Development Department (PDD) today sustained serious injuries after he was electrocuted while repairing an electric line in Sunjuwan-Narwal area of city outskirts.
The injured identified as Farid was shifted to a hospital in Ludhiana for treatment. Citing the incident, All J&K Electric Department Linemen and Workers’ Union (EDLWU) has demanded an inquiry into the incident, as the incident happened while Farid was dealing with the lines falling under the Sub Division, Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar, Division No 2.
The Union appealed the Chief Engineer of the department to provide all necessary expenses for the treatment of the injured lineman and also sanctioned immediate financial help to his family. The Union members appealed the Chief Engineer to conduct a fair and transparent enquiry into the incident.
