LEH, Aug 13: Demanding their regularization, hundreds of PDD daily wagers under the banner J&K Central Non-Gazetted Electrical Employees Union today took out peace rally.
Led by Union’s president Rinchen Norbo Nyaga, the daily wagers were demanding their regularization. “The daily wagers of Leh district have completely been ignored by the Government in the regularization exercise”, they said, adding “this exposes the tall claims of the Government about giving equal treatment to Srinagar, Jammu and Ladakh”.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to Principal Secretary to Government, Power Development Department through Deputy Commissioner Leh, Saughat Biswas. The major demands include regularization of 47 eligible daily wagers out of 172 daily wagers who are serving in the PDD since 1994 under the provision of SRO as per Cabinet Decision No 151/23/2012 dated 30.08.2012, relaxation of age and qualification bar for 5 daily wagers from Leh district who have been regularized in the PDD in the year 2001 as per the minutes of Divisional Level DPC Kashmir Division held on 01.04.2001, creation of wages account heads in the budget of Electrical M&RE Division Leh and release of wages in this account head.
