JAMMU, Sept 30: The employees of Power Development Department today called on Commissioner Secretary PDD Hirdesh Kumar Singh, here today for raising concern over the Government move on unbundling of the department besides non drawl of salary of TLMD Udhampur.
Under the banner of All J&K Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee, the employees brought to the notice of the Commissioner Secretary various issues in the operationalisation of TRADECO and the SRO 396 dated 11th September 2018. “The Government needs to assure that the terminal benefits like Gratuity, Pension, DA, medical benefits and annual increments accruing to a Government servant shall be paid on immediate basis at par with the other regular Government departments. There shall be no layoffs, terminations on the pretext of motivated disciplinary proceedings and all safeguards under the Civil Service Control and Appeal rules should be applicable to the employees who will be sent on deputation basis to the TRADECO,” they demanded.
Coordination Committee also asked for revisiting the decision to unbundle the department and suggested to constitute a committee for critically examining fall out of reforms that have been taken up in the other States and come up with a proposal other than this proposed unbundling to rejuvenate the department in real sense and be part of the turnaround story.
The non drawl of salary for all categories of employees of TLMD-Udhampur since last five months was strongly persued with the Commissioner Secretary and it was warned that power supply would be disrupted if salary is not released by 6th of October.
The Commis-sioner Secretary gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that the SRO issued for the operationalisation of TRADECO will be properly examined and all stake holders will be involved in order to arrive at a consensus. He also assured that the Government will not go about further with any unbundling and all apprehensions of employees shall be taken care of as brought before the Government. He also gave spot directions to Chief Engineer Avinash Dubey to get the salary of TLMD Udhampur released immediately without any further delay.
The delegation was led by the Coordination Committee leaders Er Jagdish Rathore, Er Jaipal Sharma, Er Sachin Tickoo, Er Sushma Parihar, Ajaz Kazmi, Sanjeev Bali, Balbir Singh, Jasbir Singh, Gurmeet Singh, P C Sharma, H D Singh, Kulbir Singh, Anil Slathia, Tarun Gupta and others.
