PDD daily wagers’ strike enters 27th day

JAMMU, July 24: The strike of All J&K PDD Employees Union/Daily Wagers Union to press the Government for regularization of pending daily wagers of the department today entered 27th day.
The PDD daily wagers and employees are sitting on continuous strike with effect from June 29 in the office of Chief Engineer, EM&RE, Canal Road, Jammu.
Addressing the media persons at the place of protest, chairman of the union, Bharat Singh, alleged that Government is doing discrimination with the Jammu province and particularly Jammu district in regularizing the daily wagers of the department.
The Union warned the department as well as administration to start continuous day-night hunger strike if their demands are not redressed by July 31.
Meanwhile, MLA Bishnah, Kamal Arora and Ex-Ministers-Harshdev Singh and Yash Paul Kundal visited the protesting daily wagers and assured to take up the matter with Chief Minister for immediate redressal.
