JAMMU, July 1: The casual labourers of Power Development Department (Now Corp) today held protest demonstration demanding release of their pendig wages.
The workers led by Akhil Sharma, president J&K Casual Labour Workers Union, Jammu assembled at Exhibition Ground near Press Club today and started protest demonstration. They were demanding release of the pending wages of the left out 462 workers. They alleged that while wages of 2707 workers were released, the wages of 462 workers were still pending.
The protesting workers urged upon the higher authorities in the department to also release the pending wages of remaining workers. They further demanded to bring 407 workers under NIC portal so that their problem related to smooth release of wages could be resolved. They alleged that despite repeated requests, their issues could not be solved.
Akhil Sharma pointed out that the Government has released the wages from the outsource Head of the department. On the pattern of the 2707 workers, their case should also be considered. He urged upon the senior officers in the PDD to solve their pending issues.
