JAMMU, Oct 1: PCDA (Northern Command) Jammu celebrated annual day of Defence Accounts Department in a grand splendor today.
Ms (Dr.) Mala lyengar, IDAS, PCDA (NC) Jammu was the chief guest of the occasion. Senior IDAS officers, employees, their families and retirees were present on the occasion.
The PCDA (NC) Jammu is an office of Defence Accounts Department under Ministry of Defence (Finance) entrusted with responsibility of Audit, Accounting and Payment activities of Armed Forces & Defence civilians.
A blood donation camp was also organised for the cause of humanity with the help of Red Cross Society. Dr. Meena Sidhu HoD, Blood Transfusion GMC, Jammu was present on the occasion. PCDA (NC) and Dr. Meena Sidhu planted trees in the compound on this occasion.
As part of the celebrations, various events were organized by the department and prizes were also distributed to the winners and runner-ups of the sports events. A cultural bonanza presented by the staff during the evening enthralled the audience with an array of cultural performances like music, dance which filled the air with joy.
During her address, Ms lyengar congratulated her staff and appreciated the efforts put in by them in bringing the organisation to such a level and asked them to strive harder to scale further heights in days to come.
She has bestowed the motivational awards to the staff, in recognition of their excellence in office works.
