JAMMU, Nov 21: A team of OBC Department of Pradesh Congress Committee, Jammu and Kashmir today visited Bari-Brahmana, Vijaypur, Ramgarh and Arnia and made the OBC community aware of their legitimate rights and demands.
The team led by Sandeep Dogra (vice chairman) and comprises of Aditaya Dogra, Raj Kumar Sodi, Sunny Mehra and Rakesh Verma, discussed the demands of the J&K OBCs with OBC community residing in these areas.
The people were apprised about the non-implementation of Mandal Commission report and SC judgment of the year 1992, thereby depriving the OBC community living in J&K of 27 % reservation. They were told that successive Governments gave only fake assurances to the OBC community for their vote bank politics and did nothing for the community.
“The State Commission for Backward Classes also did not act according to the guidelines framed before formation of Commission and the OBC people thus suffered a lot on this account,” the team members told the OBC community and asserted that there should be only OBC certificate instead of OSC as OSC is not existing in any corner and need to be hash up immediately.
