JAMMU, Feb 23: A meeting of Coordination Committee of Pradesh Congress was held at PCC headquarters Shahidi Chowk Jammu to discuss the poll strategy and other election related issues in the state.
The meeting was presided over by secretary AICC Co-in-charge J&K affairs, Sudhir Sharma as nominee of Ambika Soni- general secretary AICC and chairperson of the State Coordination Committee.
PCC president Ghulam Ahmed Mir and other members of the Coordination Committee attended the meeting. The members threadbare discussed the election related issues with regard to Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state and preparations of the party for the electoral exercise. The meeting discussed the measures to take an offensive over the failures of the BJP Govt at the Centre at various fronts, especially the worst ever security situation and rise in the militancy in the state during the BJP-PDP coalition in the state.
The meeting chalked out various programmes and to activate the party cadre at various levels to prepare the party for forthcoming elections.
Prominent among those attended the meeting included Rigzin Jora, Tara Chand, Raman Bhalla, GM Saroori, Raman Mattoo, Usman Majid, Manmohan Singh, Aslam Goni, Ch Mohd Akram, Rajnish Sharma, Subash Gupta, Ashok Gupta, Dr Rashid Choudhary, Pankaj Dogra, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Manjit Singh, KC Bhagat, Vikram Malhotra, Hari Singh Chib, Sahil Farooq, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Zahid Hussain Jan, Mohinder Parihar, Ch Abdul Ghani, Kewal Singh, Farooq Katoch, and Sheikh Mujeeb.
Later a meeting of Election Committee of Pradesh Congress was held under the chairmanship of Mir – in presence of AICC Secretary discuss the election scenario and prospective candidates of Lok Sabha in the state. The Committee unanimously passed resolution authorizing party high command to finalize the candidates for all the Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The Election Committee meeting was attended by Rigzin Jora, Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, Tara Chand, Madan Lal Sharma, Mohd Sharief Niaz, Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Sham Lal Sharma, RS Chib, GM Saroori, Ravinder Sharma, Indu Pawar, Manmohan Singh, Raman Mattoo, Balwan Singh, GN Monga, Vikramaditya Singh, Pranav Shagotra, Haji Rasheed Dar, Usman Majid, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Dildan Namgyal, Asgar Ali Karbalai, Ch Mohd Akram, Shiv Kumar Sharma (INTUC), Uday Bhanu Chib (PYC), Raqeeq Khan (NSUI) and Rajesh Sadotra (Seva Dal).
