DOORU, Aug 1: JKPCC president G A Mir today said that poor people are becoming poorer, developmental process has received severe setbacks, despite public outcry, BJP Govt at Centre seems insensitive to the genuine issues concerning people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir made these comments while addressing series of party workers meetings in Kapran, Ringmandoo and Khadar areas of Dooru- Verinag in South Kashmir.
JKPCC president received feedback from the Party workers as well as the locals with regard to ground situation, besides the local developmental issues in these areas and expressed dismay over the failed water supply schemes, lack of development, non-utilization of developmental funds, rising unemployment etc with the result people are suffering badly. The irony is Govt seems unwilling to address the problems, Mir said
Referring to the local issues, Mir said that even after four years of completion of Khadar-Ringmandoo PMGSY Road, people whose land has been taken over for construction of the road have not been compensated whilst they are being forced to visit the concerned authorities for compensation very frequently, which is not being taken seriously and demanded release of compensation against the land in their favour, on priority basis.
Mir said it is the duty of the Govt to provide neat and clean drinking water to people while referring to failed water supply schemes in Ringmandoo which needs to be repaired. Besides, the water supply scheme location in Kaparan is not appropriately situated, Mir added and urged the concerned authority to identify the new location for the same to ensure adequate supply of drinking water to people.
JKPCC president also expressed serious concern over the economic slowdown and said that economic crisis has pushed people to wall, poor people are becoming poorer, even they are not able to earn their livelihood or feed their families, he said.
Mir said the absence of popular Govt in J&K has left the people in chaotic situation as there is a huge disconnect to be seen between the people and the administration, bureaucracy has taken full control of J&K despite that, they are not willing to address the concerns of the people, Mir rued.
