NEW DELHI, July 28: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmed Mir met the All India Congress president, Sonia Gandhi here today and briefed her about the situation prevailing in Kashmir valley.
PCC president during the meeting at 10 Janpath, apprised the AICC president on the current unrest prevailing in Kashmir. Mir also told Mrs Gandhi about losses in the backdrop of the protests in the Valley.
Both the leaders discussed the socio-political scenario prevailing in the State, besides many issues of public importance also came under discussion during the crucial meet.
While expressing anguish over the loss of lives and grievious injuries caused to the people, Congress president appealed the people to shun the path of confrontation and maintain calm.
