Handwara, Aug 26: People’s Conference (PC) received a major jolt when its 250 front ranking political activists belonging to Ramhal area joined National Conference (NC) today.
Welcoming the new entrants to the National Conference fold, Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan who is also local MLA, said these People’s Conference front ranking workers have joined National Conference after getting impressed by the programmes and policies of the present Government led by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
Expressing similar views, the new entrants said that they witnessed a massive development on socio- economic fronts taken place in Handwara particularly in Ramhall area under the leadership of Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan.
Enumerating the quantum of development which has transformed the Ramhall area, the new entrants said that establishments of public offices, setting up of health and educational institutions and giving of Sub Divisional status has only happened in NC rule particularly when the constituency was headed by Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan.
They said that PC was a group of self- centred persons mainly contractors who are exploiting the genuine aspirations of common people. They said that the NC has always been sincere from 1947, espoused the cause of the poor Kashmiri people and leaders of this organisation have offered supreme sacrifices for upholding the dignity and honour of people of the State.
They said that they are extremely impressed by the Naya Kashmir programme which was presented by the visionary leader Sher-i- Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah adding that his grandson is now adding new colours to this blue print.
