Pawar asks workers to gear up for ULB polls

JAMMU, Mar 3:  Former MLA and Pradesh Mahila Congress president, Indu Pawar today asked the party activists to gear up their activities in view of coming Urban Local Bodies elections.
A meeting of Mahila Congress was held at Party headquarters at Shahidi Chowk, here today.  Ms  Pawar presided over the meeting.  She stressed for preparedness of party workers for the coming Municipal &  Local Bodies elections in the State.
She asked office bearers and party workers to start mass contact programme with  voters and general public. She further said that Congress has served this state and has presence in all the three regions of State.
The Congress leader claimed that Congress  have performed well during previous term. Many projects were taken up and also completed in time.  The BJP and PDP Government only played dirty politics by raising controversies and befooled the people.    The people were even deprived of the basic amenities.
Ms Pawar asked  Congress workers to come out in large number and start holding village level, ward level/ Panchayat level meetings and discharge their duty to strengthen the party.
Party president also discussed about the celebration of Women’s Day on  March 8. She asked Mahila workers to undertake some works for helping the neglected women of the society.
Those who spoke on the occasion included  Prabha Slathia, Vandana Makhnotra, Suman Choudhary, Sushma Choudhary, Reeta, Santosh Sharma, Geeta, Seeta, Suman Lata, Zenab, Neelam and others.
