UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: Independent candidate from Udhampur Assembly constituency Pawan Gupta filed his nommination paper with great pump and show and enthusiasm. A big rally was organized by the supporters of Pawan Gupta in which large number of people of Udhampur Assembly Constituency participated.
Supporters of Pawan Gupta assembled at his residence and rally reached at the office of RO Udhampur after passing through Chabutra, Main Bazar, PN Dogra Market, Dabber Chowk, Mukerjee Bazar, Ramnagar Chowk, Court road and Salathia Chowk. After filling his nomination papers rally reached at Mini Stadium via Dhar road, Domail Chowk, MH Chowk and Town Hall Chowk. Pawan Gupta and his associates addressed the workers, supporters to vote in favour of his candidature for peace, progress, prosperity and justice.
Gupta assured in his address that he will perform up to the expectations of voters if he is given a chance to serve the people of the Constituency the Assembly. He promised to provide electricity and water to the remotest of villages. He further committed to bringing the Urban Renewal Mission project worth several hundred crore to the Udhampur town within one year of his election. He promised to upgrade schools in several villages to 10+2 level to facilitate easy access to higher education. Furthermore, he promised to fill shortages of staff at various levels of infrastructural basics like schools and dispensaries. Attacking the sitting MLA for not coming upto expectations of masses he said problems pilled up during his tenure as MLA in last 12 years.
Pawan Gupta said that Udhampur is one of the historic towns of the State and efforts are needed to restore its pristine glory. He also recalled the role of his father in developing the Udhampur Constituency and as a towering leader of Praja Parishad who fought for cause of people of Jammu till his last breath.
